Disney Culinary Program

Application Process

Question:  How are students admitted into the Disney Culinary Program?
Answer:

  1. Explore the Disney Culinary Program website

The Disney Culinary Program is a unique experience, and therefore we strongly recommend exploring our website in detail prior to submitting an application.

  2. Review the list of On-Campus Presentations

We host presentations at culinary schools across the country, during which our culinary recruiter will review the program components and schedule interviews with eligible candidates. You can view a list of upcoming presentations here.

If there is an upcoming presentation on your campus, we strongly encourage you to attend to meet with a recruiter in person. If you do not see your school in the list of upcoming presentations, please proceed with completing the application as listed below (you will be contacted regarding interview options based on your application).

  3. Complete the online Application

Tell us about your past experience and education by completing our application here.

  4. Interview

Within two weeks of submitting your application, you will receive email communication about scheduling an interview. The interview process varies by school - you may be invited to schedule an in-person interview during an upcoming campus visit, or a telephone interview if there is not an upcoming presentation on your campus.

  5. Notification

Those who are invited to complete interviews will receive their results within three weeks after the interview is completed. This may be notification of a final decision or notification that additional time is needed before a final decision can be made. Additional information on the notification process is available here.

Please be patient as your application is being considered for acceptance into the program.

If more than three weeks pass since you interviewed and you have not received an update on your interview status, please send an e-mail to wdw.disney.culinary.programs@disney.com with your full name and complete mailing address.

Question:  What are the application requirements?
Answer:
To apply, students must be enrolled currently in a collegiate culinary program. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and meet his or her school's requirements for participation. Participation in this program requires unrestricted work authorization.

Question:  I do not live in the United States, but I would like to work at the Walt Disney World® Resort. What should I do?
Answer:
Candidates with unrestricted work authorization, who are currently studying abroad, should contact the College Recruiting office at 1-800-722-2930 prior to submitting an application. All other candidates should visit the Disney International Programs website at disneyinternationalprograms.com.

Question:  When will recruiters be visiting schools?
Answer:
We visit schools throughout the country each fall and spring. The campus visits consist of a presentation that provides more detailed information about the program including the process by which to apply.

Click here to view a list of upcoming campus presentations.

Question:  Are applicants required to attend a presentation?
Answer:
If an upcoming presentation is scheduled on your campus, you are strongly encouraged to attend. If you are unable to attend a presentation, or if there is not a presentation in your area, you may explore the Disney Culinary Program website and apply at any time.

Question:  Should I bring a cover letter and Resume/CV to the interview?
Answer:
It is not necessary to bring these items. The online application is sufficient for our interview process.

Question:  If students are not accepted the first time they interview, can they try again?
Answer:
A student may reapply in the following semester if six months have passed from the last interview.

Question:  If a student needs to decline an offer will this hurt his/her chances of getting into the program in the future?
Answer:
Not at all. Although we are sorry it won't work for them at this time, they are free to apply again during the next recruiting season. These students will have to re-apply, and interview again.

Question:  Can students come to the Casting Center to interview?
Answer:
Unfortunately, we are unable to conduct walk-in interviews at the Casting Center. We encourage candidates to attend a live presentation or to apply online.

Notification Process

Question:  When will students receive an answer regarding their interviews?
Answer:
Students hear from College Recruiting generally within two weeks following their interviews. Everyone who interviews will receive notification.

If the time frame after your interview has exceeded two weeks, please send an e-mail to College Recruiting at wdw.disney.culinary.programs@disney.com with your full name, the email address used on your application, and the date of your interview. Please include "Notification Response" in the subject line.

Question:  How will students be notified?
Answer:
Notification of each candidate's status will be sent through email to the email address provided on the candidate's application form. Since some messages are filtered out by various email systems, all email communication sent to candidates can be viewed by visiting the candidate dashboard. We encourage candidates to visit the dashboard regular to ensure they do not miss any communication.
